My mother’s words live in my head:
It’s true that once you have kids, sleeping through the night, or really sleep in general, is a distant memory. My kids are pretty good sleepers, but no matter how much sleep I get per night, it never seems to be enough. Sleeping while pregnant is no exception which is why I feel as though you can take away my wine, but you can’t take away my coffee too! I am the type of person who stops at Starbucks to get a latte every time I am sans kids just because I can… but now that I have a Nespresso machine I can enjoy that luxury every single day….(no lugging kids in and out of car only to be suckered in to buying overpriced cake-pops required.)
This gift from my mom is by far my favorite kitchen “appliance”. At first I wasn’t so sure about it because I didn’t want my kitchen counters to be consumed with coffee makers. (Side note: I have a very organized sister who cringes at cluttered countertops and her voice lives inside my head as well). But after a few days, I packed up my regular drip coffee machine and every morning, and sometimes late afternoon, I indulge in a “homemade” latte… (think Keurig meets espresso machine).
(Mug pictured above from Anthropologie is also my favorite!)
I have no idea if this habit will become an expensive one because I am still reaping the benefits of the $100 worth of free coffee you get when you purchase a new machine. This perk cancels out the cost of the automatic milk frother that is a must in my opinion…. and also the opinion of this little guy who is always waiting to slurp down my remaining sugar-coated foam:
Oh, and one more benefit – I am pretty sure my Nespresso is making me more popular:
