A picture is worth a thousand words and these days a frame for that picture costs about as much in dollars. I currently have 2,204 pictures on my iPhone. That’s a lotta words….. and a lotta dollars if I were to frame even just a few. Ok. Exaggeration, but the cost of frames can definitely add up. Here is my issue. I have this big wall in my house that I have had 3/4 decorated since October. I knew I wanted pictures of family, but due to lack of inspiration, lack of sales on frames, and lack of cooperation from my kids whenever I want to take a picture, the wall has remained barren. Lopsided. Neglected.
So I did what I do best and I consulted my peoples. My peoples = my sisters. My peoples have talents. Serious ones. It’s like asking google, but better because I know my answers will be legit.
For example:
Sister #1 – “How do you roast beets?”
Sister #4 – “Can you put together some outfit options for that wedding I have this weekend… shoes and accessories included?”
Sister #5 – “What type of cheese should I serve with this wine? Also, can I die and come back as you?”
Sister #3 – “So I have that blank wall in my house. Can I steal your clipboard wall idea? Would that work?”
It’s a pretty awesome concierge service I have going. Anyway, sister #3 gave me the thumbs up to steal her idea. Check out her super awesome creative use of wall space in her breakfast nook below:
This blank wall was in desperate need of some attention so I hopped on amazon.com and the little elves delivered my 6 clipboards less than 24 hours later.
I used my best 5th grade math skills. Meaning, I broke out the ruler and calculator because, as my mom says, “Your brain goes out with childbirth” and evenly spaced the boards in rows of 3.
But…. I wasn’t feeling it.
My clipboards needed some love.
With the help of some string, dinner napkins, burlap, and twine, I naturalistically “bedazzled” my clipboards if you will:
And now we are 4 for 4.
And the top 3 reasons I love this wall:
#1. Super easy to change pictures since my kids change/grow way too fast.
#2. It cost me $12.88.
#3. My husband will be so proud that it only cost me $12.88. (and maybe that money saved will go towards plantation blinds for those window… a girl can dream……)
