One FAVE and one FLOP on a Thurs.

August 8, 2013

I signed up for a half marathon and training has officially begun. No, training for a half marathon is not my favorite thing. Running any sort of mileage after having a baby is about as fun as potty training (see below). My favorite thing, however,  is my post workout treat:

I saw a commercial for this stuff and it was love at first sight. I eat bananas as a vehicle to eat peanut butter and this stuff is really, really good. It’s light and fluffy and I think the “air” that is whipped into it makes it slightly less caloric than regular peanut butter. I usually eat the super healthy natural peanut butters, but this is one of those foods where you just close your eyes and enjoy. If you don’t have willpower, then don’t buy it. I have medium strength will power so I went for it and have only eaten half the container in the 3 days it has existed in my pantry. Plus, I did a little math:

3 miles + 2 kids in a jogging stroller (60lbs) + Breastfeeding (crazy extra calories per day)  = a lot of peanut butter.

Potty training and infants don’t mix. No, not potty training the infant. I am not that crazy. What I mean is, potty training a toddler with an infant in the picture. Let me paint the scene:

“Do you have to go potty?”

“No. “

(10 mins pass)

“Do you have to go potty, now?”

(10 mins pass)

“Come on let’s go sit on the potty! Yay!” (cue jazz hands and high kick… anything to get him excited)

(10 mins pass)

“Pot-ty! Pot-ty! Pot-TY! Time to go!”

FINE!!!!!.….. I am going to nurse your brother now. “

30 seconds pass…

Puddle on the floor.

“Haha, Mommy! I go pee-pee! Wook at dat!”

Yep. I need my wingman. Yes, husband, that means you. Potty training will resume this weekend. And first item on the training agenda?

Target practice:

I just saw that whip stuff on a commercial. It looks amazing and I am insane about peanut butter – the natural stuff. I don’t think I can buy this. I remember potty training Kara when Lindsay was born and every time I would start feeding Lindsay she would have to go to the bathroom and I would be feeding Lindsay standing up while assisting her. It was insane!
