As promised, I got my favorite people to do the dirty work for you. Your personal shoppers for the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale are here to save the day. Because, hey, if it comes naturally to them, then why should we all struggle through pages and pages or racks and racks (because I suppose there are still people out there who actually still shop in stores as opposed to online – people who have well behaved children *cough*not me*cough*)…. Now where was I. Oh yes, why should we struggle through so many choices when we can have the fashionably blessed do it for us? You know, people who can tell you what you really need. Staples. Versatile pieces. Trends that aren’t “trendy”. And so, we are kicking off the Nordstrom Half Yearly sale mini series with some picks from Abby and Kaytlynn. More fun stuff to come later this week. Yes, I am taking my kids in there for a little kiddie modeling sesh – fully equipped with those orange slices covered in sugar for
ammunition bribery – #dontjudge. It’s my pleasure to do a little of the digging to let you know what’s hot, what’s going fast, and what’s else is….up?
Okay first up is Abby – a clothing buyer herself – she rounded up some classic staples that you need in your life. Sizes sell out fast so, yeah, there’s your warning. But, if I do say so myself, there are some pretty amazing prices. Happy shopping!
Black Dress – this Eileen Fisher dress may seem basic for the price tag, but this is closet staple is a must. Nuff said.
Crop Flare Denim – newest silhouette of denim, flattering for those big bottom girls, and a great transitional bottom for seasons and for occasion. At less than a $75 .. This is a steal!
Denim Mini Skirt – the denim skirt is making a comeback- grab one in every silhouette.
White Midi – another essential and classic shape. Great for brunches, lunches and sidewalk strolls.
Open Toe Mule – comfortable and chic, all the celebs are wearing this shoe.
And next up is Kaytlynn. She has an eye for accessories and knows how to finish an outfit effortlessly. Swooning over her picks – especially that necklace. And the backpack. And the… okay, I’ll stop now….. (the ring). Sorry. On we go.
Herschel Supply Co Reid Mid Volume Backpack – Never did I think I’d see a day when backpacks and overalls were cool again, but alas, my awkward years are back and hopefully a little less, well, awkward (lack of braces should help). I love this small bag for afternoon outings or casual dinner dates and this more practical one for everyday use.
Shiloh Frontal Necklace – A little bit of a high price tag but trust me, this is your summer statement necklace (and it’s 40% off after all). This guy is neutral enough to go with just about anything – it would look awesome dressed up for a day at work over a black shift with camel pumps but just as great peeking out under a classic white button down with jeans and flip flops.
Marni Round Sunglasses – For me these are the perfect compromise of what seems to be the sunglass of the season — A 70’s-inspired round frame can be hard to pull off without looking like a bug, but these have enough shape (and a large enough frame) to still flatter your face.
Painterly Landscape Scarf – Do you know what this would look perfect with? Your half-packed weekend bag.
Jewel Box Cocktail Ring – This is a great way to do the whole “stacking rings” look without actually stacking rings.
Paisley Scarf – Okay, this isn’t included in the half-year sale, but have you seen all the ways the model is wearing this scarf?! Five different ways! Basically a sale. Sign.Me.Up.
Floppy Fedora – Beach to boardwalk and just about everywhere in between.
Hook Stretch Leather Belt – My go-to summer look – a linen t-shirt, leather belt, denim shorts and leather flip-flops. Easy breezy.
Wool Cloche – Can I tell you to buy this and save it for winter with a black coat? Because that is exactly what I want to tell you.
