What Would Abby Wear (WWAW)

June 21, 2015

Do you ever stare at your closet and think, “Ugh, I have nothing to wear?” HA. Of course you do. We all do. But when my sister Abby looks at my closet, she sees endless options. And while I’m not giving out her cell so you can text her like I do when I need outfit advice, I am presenting you with this new series to provide ideas and inspiration for all of your styling needs. Abby is a master at using what she already has and creating a “look” and also at taking one piece and wearing it multiple ways. And so that is the theme of today’s post. One dress, 2 ways, times two. So yeah, when you do the math that’s TWO dresses, 4 ways. Awesome.

Floral Sundress Two Ways

Look 1- Grunge with a hint of Femme

This look could easily be styled with a chambray shirt, but since that has been “over-played’ I used a plain old button down. I added the hint of shine in the necklace to add a feminine touch. The leather jacket can also be replaced for a denim jacket.

Look 2- Femme Preppy

Added a big necklace and re-styled the shirt. Rolling the sleeves up all the way gives it a fresh look. You can also add a baseball hat to add some flare.

Shirt Dress Two Ways

Dress 1- Look 1

Dress with jeans! Open up that basic shirt dress and you have a whole new look! Paired with a classic stripe- this look is funky and fun.

Accessorize!! It’s amazing what hat and a belt can do for an outfit. Don’t be afraid to layer it on – just try to stick with a consistent color to keep the look streamlined.

The addition of the printed scarf is a pop of color to create a point of contrast in the look.
