Half-assed curling iron through your own hair in case you make it into one of the photos. Check.
Tantrum over fancy shoes which leads to red eyes and high blood pressure, maybe even a headache. Check.
Questioning thoughts about why you are even bothering. Check.
And I’m going to stop you right there. I’ll tell you why you are bothering. Because holiday photo cards are freaking awesome. That is why you are bothering. They bring joy to mailboxes around the world, and they are keepsakes to collect year after year to document how your family has grown and changed over time. So you tell your kid to suck it up, button up the shirt, and pretend for 3 seconds that they actually love their sibling. And then they frown at you, button up their shirts begrudgingly, and sustain their high level of difficult-ness throughout the 3 seconds that you try to take their picture. Annnnd now you are sweating. Great. You never knew it was possibly to be jacket-less in November and in full on sweat because of the hoops that your kids just made you jump through. Does this sound familiar? It can’t only be my kids who do this to me.
And because I’ve been through this charade a few times before (like 6), I can tell you that I will NOT let my efforts go to waste. Oh no. I want a beautiful card to showcase whatever kind of picture we end up getting in the end. It might not always be picture perfect, and that’s ok. Some times the candid ones that show the true dynamic of your family are the ones that I love best.
When Minted asked me to take a look at some of their holiday photo cards and share some favorites with you, I didn’t hesitate. First, I always use Minted for my cards because, well, because they are just the best. Oh! And bonus, this year they are addressing your envelopes for FREE (and the choices are GORGEOUS)! Busy moms around the world who want to seem fancy but don’t have time for that rejoice!
But back to the cards. Here are a few contenders for this year’s holiday card. Let me know which one you like best!

Holiday Photo Cards:
Let’s start with sweet and sentimental, shall we.
But if you don’t get that perfect shot, DON’T fear! I think I might like this one even better:
Or maybe you want to show your kids in all of their crazy glory? #noposingrequired
Or a little behind the scenes (the shirts of their choice under the shirts of my choice….. bribery at it’s best).
Just being honest…
And there is always one for the traditionalist at heart….
Which design is your favorite? Was my raging headache worth it?
I’m not kidding. It’s fancy. (see image below)
