The Sunday Brief

the sunday brief

Hi everyone! I hope everyone is enjoying some time home with family and enjoying the “new toy phase” of child contentment, otherwise known as, some peace and quiet. Now, if only trash day would hurry up and get here so we can get rid of all these boxes, right? Some favorites gifts among our boys were this, a bunch of these guys, and this (I was seriously impressed with the quality, the fact that it requires no batteries (HUGE!) and is super lightweight). In other news, we decided this would be a good time of year to potty train our youngest given that it is warm enough out to go pantlesses. I’m not sure if it’s me or the kid, but he seems to be virtually unpotty trainable (this is our second attempt). You would think I would be a pro the third time around? Tips/advice all much appreciated.

Here are some random thoughts for your week (hopefully you all have some time off!)

Local Love // I had a reader request for a post for things to do with family in Philly around the holidays. Sadly I didn’t have time to write this, but here are a few things you might enjoy!

Bring This // More holiday parties to attend? My mother in-law made this side dish on Christmas and it was…. amazing! Not to mention, it is very pretty and festive.

Ending Soon….. // Last call for special reader discounts at Waltzing Matilda in Wayne, Pa (mention the blog in store or enter sisterstosonsWM online for 10% off your purchase. Also, the ever popular Swirling Honey blanket scarf – use code sisterstosons20 for 20% off. Both discounts are good through 12/31/2015.

Post Holiday Sales // Looking to put that Christmas money to good use? Anthropologie 25% off sale, Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale (save up to 50% on new markdowns), Loft 50% off everything (!!), J.Crew 40% off winter styles, Gap Winter Sale Event (up to 60% off PLUS 40% off purchase), Free People (30% off sale), Urban Outfitters (30% off sale, or 40% off sale for UO members)

Friendly Reminders // Have some time off this week? A few household things to take care of after you de-Christmas: You could… wash your shower curtain? Clean your make up brushes? Reorganize your sweaters the Marie Kondo way?

NYE (at HOME!) // Here are some fun ideas for spending NYE at home with kids… and searching for the perfect NYE outfit to accompany all this? I’ll be wearing these fancy shoes, with this ;)… oh and this too (the coziest Christmas present I ever did receive)

Ok, that’s all I’ve got.

Have a great week! xox
