Ok so I think it’s safe to say that spring is FINALLY here for real this time. This is hugely exciting for many reasons, one being that my kids will finally look “normal” wearing shorts since they’ve been wearing them since……….well, since December-ish (a fight I gave up a long time ago). Tis the season of dirty knees, open windows, flip flops and jeans (insert side fist pull), and just a happier disposition of life in general. I freaking love this time of year – our neighborhood is alive, everything is prettier, annnnnd I no longer have to entertain my children within the confines of our home (double side fist pull on that note).
We are having a crazy busy weekend with baseball and lacrosse season now in full swing. My little two are playing tball on the same team and it just might be the cutest thing I ever did see. OH! And I got to go OUT and actually hang out with adults for the first time in a long time this past Friday which was so refreshing. And I loved seeing all of my lady friends killing it in the season’s hottest trend – SHOULDERS. They were popping out everywhere and I have a fun post in store this week showcasing my favorite shoulder-bearing tops. If you can’t wait, check these out.
I also got a chance this weekend to catch up with high school friends. Crazily enough we had 13 offspring at our little get together this weekend. It’s moments like that when you just stop and think, “How the heck did we get here so fast?” And speaking of fast, my oldest is turning 7 this week which seems like a ridiculously high number, but I must say……it is pretty cool being a parent to “older” kids. When I once thought milestones like first steps and first words were cool…. it’s equally amazing to see a budding personality and sense of humor. Seeing him develop into his own little person – there’s nothing quite like it.
Ok this was meant to be a short little intro, but this bedtime tea that I’m drinking must be making me babble (#imagineifitwerewine). Oh, one more thing, my parents are FINALLY coming home from their Floridian winter this week – WOOT! WOOT! I know three little boys (and a
little very pregnant lady) who have missed you. Hurry home! Ok. OKAY. Without further adieu here is the Sunday Brief:
Eat // Last week’s successes were these turkey burgers and this easy fish dish. This week on the menu: this soup (with orzo instead of tortellini), my son’s birthday dinner will be Tuesday and his request is “green noodles” a.k.a. fresh spinach fettucini with garlic, butter, and parmesan cheese (seriously good). I’ll probably serve that up with some grilled chicken. Later in the week I’m bringing back this oldie: pepperless stuffed peppers.
Who Knew // Here’s a clever way to roll up your sleeves…
Crisp // White sneaks are having a moment. (….and here’s how to keep them clean.)
Matern-i-TEE // Motherhood Maternity was so sweet to send me this comfy tee (wearing it on insta here). Designed by Jessica Simpson, $5 from the sale of each tee supports a total donation of $25,000 to the good+ foundation™ from Motherhood Maternity.
Runner’s High // No really, it’s a thing. Good luck to all those gearing up for spring races!
You Asked // …. and I’m on it! I love getting requests for posts from you guys! Recent reader requests have been best travel bags? Wedding season dress ideas? How to wear nursing scarves? Keep them coming! I’m all over it.
That’s all I’ve got. Do your Sunday up right.
