Your Guide to the Best Rain Boots (seriously cool ones)

May 12, 2016

I don’t live in Seattle, but one glance at the 10 day 21 day forecast (yikes!), and you’d think I was lying. This rain doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. I’ve had a trusty pair of Tretorn rain boots that have lasted me YEARS (they are fur lined and slip on so easily), but the rubber has just started to crack in a few spots 6 years later. This travesty prompted an immediate online search to check out the rain boot scene. I only have good news to share: 1) The rain boot game right now is a-mazing, 2) Most styles are on sale. 3) Hunter Boots are NOT your only option. I’ve rounded up the best rain boots out there plus the chicest raincoats to pair with them. I know, I know, we’d all rather be doning these sandals paired with these shorts and, oh I don’t know, this top (?), but I’m pretty sure, according to Murphy’s Law, if we all give in and get new rain gear, the sun will come out. Until then bring on the puddles!

Rain Boot + Raincoat Combos Worth a Double Take….

(image is clickable)

Stripes + Chic – I can’t stop thinking about this raincoat. The stripes fresh enough to make any rainy day seem not-so-bad and the white (and very wipeable) boots are uber chic. They pair well with any outfit AND are on sale to boot (no pun intended).

Save + Splurge – This jacket is recently marked down and the perfectly lightweight to throw over anything before beelining it to the car. The eyelet detail on the back is just an added bonus. The boots, although a bit of a splurge add a fun pop of color on a dreary day.

Shine + Bloom – Some people sing in the rain, others…….glisten? This iredeccent jacket is for the latter. And the flowering Joules boots (sold at both Nordstrom and Target) make it hard not to remember that sunnier, flowerier days are ahead.

Fool Proof – This is the combo that I own, a good ole North Face with trusty Tretorns.

More rainy day fun right this way….

Now, what’s the best thing about rain according to my kids?

(it’s a Peppa Pig thing, snort snort) 😉
