10 Easy Summer Dresses (and a new friend!)

May 18, 2016

I’ve learned over the past few years of blogging that while the blogging world is HUGE, I really don’t personally know many bloggers. Rewind to a few weeks ago when my cousin in-law (who also happens to be my amazing photographer that so many of you ask about) told me about this friend she has, Carly, with a blog, Carly and Sloane, and maybe we should meet? So we did. Her blog is amazing, photography stunning and you need to go check it out! Oh, and Carly herself… she’s is just super fun, and down-to-earth mama who has great style, a daughter that is edible, and I’m so excited to learn from her and visa versa.

But before we got into all the blogging talk…. where did we start?

Because summer is right around the corner and dresses are the quintessential 30 second outfit for busy moms. Without further adieu, I bring you 10 of our favorites….Carly covered some of her summertime favorites for all occasions, and I’m sharing maternity dresses for all the moms who have to bare the heat this summer!

Carly’s Picks Left to Right:

Halter Chambray //(Dress I am wearing) I am obsessed with this soft denim halter from Anthropologie. The relaxed tunic silhouette is extremely easy to move in and comes in three different colors- I’m partial to the light denim but I am contemplating a second version in green!

Knit Lace Lily Dress // When I think of a summery beach evening, Lilly Pulitzer is one of the first designers that comes to mind. This cantaloupe colored lace shift dress absolutely stuns! The perfect dress for a summer wedding.

Off the Shoulder // I have been loving everything ‘off the shoulder’ this season. This simple tie waisted dress is one of my favorite summer inspired looks and the BEST part is its under $35.

Tie Front Maxi // This plunge neck maxi is one of those dresses you can feel comfortably sexy in. The Grecian like silhouette is so beautiful without giving away too much. I love this dress for a summer date night, especially since its under $50.

Floral Sandstar Dress // One of my favorite things about the warmer seasons is wearing white. This floral printed dress is so chic. The boho inspired silk number is perfect for a shower, graduation party or if you just feel like turning heads on a target run.

Lindsey’s Picks Left to Right:

Floral Maxi – (this is the dress I am wearing) – When it comes to maternity dresses, I try to find ones that are budget friendly because, although it doesn’t seem like it at the time, the pregnancy will come to and end. This floral jersey number is super soft and lightweight for hot summer days.

Chambray – Everyone needs a chambray dress – yes, even when you are pregnant. It is the perfect neutral canvas to either dress up with bright accessories, or just throw on a baseball cap and a pair of flips and be on your way.

Striped Maxi – Bright and punchy, this maxi doesn’t need much else. Well, except maybe your comfiest pair of flats (because…. pregnancy!) and your favorite denim jacket. Or try this: take a white tee, tie it up over the bump, and you’ve got a completely new look.

Black Wrap Maxi – Every pregnant girl needs a simple black maxi. The end.

White Eyelet Sundress – Easy breezy, lightweight summer dress. With eyelet detail(!!!) – SOLD!
