Let’s talk boobs, shall we? Ok more specifically, bras (even though according to my kids, there is no difference between the two as demonstrated when my 3 year old pick up my bra and said, “Hey mom! I’m just gonna move your boobs over here.”)
Hmm.
Touche.
You got me.
Most times my bra is my boobs which is actually not the case at the moment thanks to nursing, but alas they will be short-lived before dissolving back into….ok yeahyeahyeah enough about my boobs – let’s talk about yours! The summer bra game can get a little tricky. I’ve had a few readers ask about what to wear under the season’s hottest trends like off-the-shoulder tops, cold shoulder tops, and even basic tanks and tees. Personally, I will likely be living in this nursing bra, but for everyone else, I’ve rounded up some of the best bras for summer and all the tricky outfits that come with it. Nordstrom seems to have the best bra selection, and readers agree that is their favorite place to shop. The free shipping and returns doesn’t hurt either. Another option at Nordstrom is their buy online/pick up in store feature. This allows you to try it on and/or get fitted if needed, but also assures that the bra you have your eye on is in stock. Okay! Now, let’s take a look….(oh, and all of the images below are clickable and will take you directly to the shopping link).
Best Bras for Summer:
Let’s start with tees and tanks. My everyday summer uniform consists of loose/flowy tops, cut offs, and birks or flips. Wearing a tshirt bra would be acceptable, but in most cases you can see the straps anyway especially if you are wearing spaghetti straps or a wide neck/boyfriend tee. Bralettes are a million times prettier with lacey/strappy details and for small chested girls, I highly recommend you give it a go. Bralettes typically do not have as much support as regular bras, but if you do have a larger bust, it doesn’t mean you have to miss out! Try this one. It comes highly rated for those who need more support. And yes, it is okay to let it show a little. I’m pretty sure that is the point 😉 This bralette is my personal favorite and, according to the internet, it’s the top rated bralette under $50.
Favorite bralettes and everyday tops:
The off-the-shoulder trend is everywhere this season. And while I love this trend, I’m pretty sure there is nothing worse than a strapless bra.. amiright? Unless you dare to go braless (sorry can’t do it!), your gonna need one of these. I did my homework and these are the best of the breast in the world of strapless bras! Busty girls, the top right bra is for you, and the bottom two work for all sizes. The middle bra is particularly great for smaller chests.
Favorite Shoulder-bearing tops and Strapless Bras:
And summer would not be complete without some racerback love. And yes, your sports bra is likely racerback, but no you cannot wear on a daily basis (ok, I might be guilty of this). Here are some gorgeous racerback bra options and if they peek out a little, well, that wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world either 😉 The top two are great for smaller chests, and the bottom for those who need more support. TIP: Fashion insiders swear by this rule when buying strapless bras – go UP a cup size and DOWN a band size. This keeps everything in place and avoids “spillage” – you know, for those who actually have that problem…
Favorite Racerbacks:
Bonus! I asked my sister (who works in fashion and used to be a lingerie buyer) for her top picks and here there are….

June 23, 2016 at 12:45 pmI want to try a bralette, but I’m afraid that it wouldn’t be supportive for my D cup. This is a pretty selection.
