She recently opened Omene Family and Cosmetic Dentistry on the mainline (you can follow along on Instagram and Facebook!) and specializes in cosmetic and facial aesthetics. Q &A with Gulia:
How would you describe your style in 5 words or less? Clean lines, modern, feminine.
What advice do you have for working moms? Something that my mom told me is: you don’t have to be perfect at everything. Prioritize the important stuff and if your house is a little messy, so be it.
What’s your favorite pair of jeans? Ok, I am so sorry. I get so embarrassed by this questions because I hate jeans. I own one pair from Boden and I have maybe worn them twice.
What do you love best about being a mom? It surprises me every day. I am still blown away that people have continued to do this for so many years. I think being a mom is the most difficult thing in the entire world, but such a privilege. I love watching their personalities unfold. Last night my 2 year old told her first joke. It was so funny watching her think it out, say it, and then start cracking up. Then she told it like 8 times in a row.
How did you keep in shape when you were pregnant? I had a hard time staying in shape while I was pregnant because I always felt a bit sick. If I could go for a walk during lunch I was happy, but I ended up gaining about 45 pounds with each girl. Now that I am not pregnant I have fallen in love with the new Orange Theory Fitness in Paoli. It’s a great mix of cardio (which I love) and strength (which I hate.) I am also half way through my second Whole 30. I struggle with organizing and meal planning, but I am working on it!
Drink of choice? Coffee, coffee, coffee. Sometimes I dream about it when I go to bed at night. Is that bad?
Most worn item in your closet? My sister made me buy these pants when she worked at J.Crew and they do not disappoint! I actually don’t like to wear jeans (I never feel quite comfortable in them-see question above!) so these are my go-to pant. The higher waist hides what I want to hide and they are stretchy enough to be extremely comfy, but structured enough that you always look put together.
What is the last book you read? I am currently reading Everyone Brave is Forgiven by Chris Cleave. He wrote one of my all time favorite books Little Bee and so far Everyone Brave is Forgiven is excellent. His writing style is very unique.
Thank you so much, Gulia for being a part of this series! Your girls have an amazing role model in their mama – it’s truly been a pleasure getting to know you!
