4th Trimester Outfit Must-Haves

March 27, 2017

It’s official, my fourth trimester has begun. I knew I wasn’t going to be able to fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes right away, so I rounded up what seems to be my new “postpartum uniform”. I decided that I would try out breast feeding, so having tops that are both loose and breast accessible are a must. Week by week I am getting back into some of my pre-pregnancy clothes, but figuring out this whole 4th trimester outfit thing, can certainly be a challenge. Here are some ideas that have been working for me….*image is clickable

1. High Rise Pant // These help to hold everything in place as your body starts to reshape. They feel SO good around a postpartum tummy and add 360 coverage when lifting your shirt to nurse.

2. Loose Tops  // While at home I didn’t want to have to fuss around when feeding, so loose tops, henley or wrap tops have been easy to pull aside.

3. Cozy Wrap Layer // Lightweight wraps are perfect for snuggling up with baby and camouflaging the postpartum pooch. Draped cardigans are my new best friend and much easier for feedings then fussing with a pullover.

4. Nursing-friendly bra // I was a little skeptical about using these at first because I figured I would just wear a bralette, but these have been life-saving (and so much more supportive!). They are comfortable and again provide easy access. I also recommend getting nursing pads because the leakage situation is REAL :/

I have also rounded up some of my favorite nursing-friendly/post partum dresses and jumpsuits – maybe I will test one of these out for week 4! My favorite brand has to be Loyal Hana with their ingenious hidden zipper!

Oh my gosh! High rise leggings are so great after having a baby. I once read that the easiest way to dress to stay covered while breastfeeding was to add lots of comfy layers – tank/cami, tee, cardigan.

Cozy wraps, and comfy leggings were my absolute go to when I stocked up on postpartum uniform necessities! Funny thing is though, my twins are 4 now… and not much has changed! 😉

Hope you will be posting more of your favorites! x
