We are wrapping up our Floridian style crush series (where should we go next??) with a Florida native and working mom of two little girls. Cindy is the Client Development Manager for Terracon Consultants, Inc., a national engineering and environmental consulting firm. A true Florida girl, she loves the beach and water and is passionate about making Tampa a better place to live through not only her professional career with organizations such as Urban Land Institute but also in her efforts with community assets such as the Gasparilla Music Festival, Tampa General Hospital, and Florida Polytechnic University. Impressive, right? How lucky are we that Cindy was able to sneak away for an hour to show off a little taste of her weekend style in the form of what might be the cutest dress I ever did see (and it’s on sale!). Oh, and technically this is not Cindy’s debut on the blog. She was also featured in this post where she recommended her favorite mom-appropriate jean shorts – I knew the Florida crew would be the right women to ask. Meet Cindy…..
Tell us about the look you wore? I gravitate towards dresses so this SAYLOR dress was a must when I first saw it. I’ve already worn it to my daughter’s school benefit, but I would wear it to a nice dinner with my husband or a summer party with sandals. It took me some time to warm up to the off-the-shoulder look but now I am completely sold! This dress has all the important elements for me – a cute pattern, pom poms (who doesn’t love a pom pom!), keeps me covered but still has style and is versatile.
How would you describe your style in 5 words or less? Bohemian classic with an edge
What’s your favorite pair of jeans? I love all MOTHER jeans so that’s like asking which kid is my favorite! If I have to choose, The Looker would be my favorite.
What do you love best about being a mom? Life’s little moments – when they run to you when you come home, snuggling, an unprovoked “I love you” – those moments are priceless.
Most worn item in your closet? Jenny Bird Always Hustlin’ Bracelet
Go to week night dinner that everyone loves? Taco Tuesdays (or in some cases Wednesday or Thursday) My kids love the Taco Truck taco holder from Fred & Friends!
Who is your style icon? Kate Hudson
I never leave the house without….. chapstick & a hair tie!
What are your secrets for balancing work, family, and friends? Support…raising a family, being a wife, maintaining friendships and working requires support from many. Find those you trust both professionally and personally and let them help you when you need it. You’d be surprised how many people want to help. And be willing to return the help when others need it!
