**Hello friends! If you are looking for the 2018 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Post, you can check that out here!**
I’m going to go out on a limb and say that if you are a longtime reader of The Motherchic, you probably come back for more because you like fashion and want to look put together, but you don’t have time to think about it. For those reasons alone, this post is probably the most important post I write because I am sharing staple items that will make your wardrobe in the upcoming year. And, all of these things are on sale because this is the post where I give my edited picks from the highly anticipated Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. The sale is massive and overwhelming and the deals are….. GOOD! Really good.
But first, strategy….
I’ve talked a little #NSALE strategy in previous posts, but my best advice would be to think about your fall wardrobe (I know that is hard in July, but just trust me) and think about those key items that you wear on repeat, but could use a refresh (jeans, shoes, jackets, bags etc….). The Nordstrom Anniversary sale is time to buy these items because brand new arrivals hit the store already marked down, then will go up to their original price when the sale ends. After staples, I hit up the no brainers (like basic tees, GOOD bras, and live in sweaters), then I just sort of go with my gut and maybe spend a little too much, but then again so is everybody else which brings me to my next point: Things. Sell. Out. Fast. Don’t dawdle. Don’t overthink it. Free shipping and free returns is your new best friend. Oh, and also ordering online picking up in store….. I know.
Abby and I spent hours giddily hand selecting outfits and putting together looks for a little inspiration. Over the next few weeks, we will delve a little deeper into each category. Yes, there will be dedicated posts on jeans and knits and kids and beauty and activewear and even mens, home and more. This post however, has a little bit of everything broken up by “vibe” from everyday casual to workwear to workOUT! A few of my initial obsessions were of course the coveted AG jeans (they are painfully perfect), the Rag and Bone booties are back and did not disappoint, the Madewell tote (now with a stripe!), and these Vince Camuto heels were an unexpected favorite. I also love this cardigan, this button-down and these leggings are so insanely good, and this epic bootie from last year is back in new form, but let’s get on with the outfits…..
Vibe: Comfy, Cool, Casual
Wearing:
Rails Button-down (splurge worthy flannel – if you don’t own a Rails top, now is the time. They seem crazy overpriced, but they are super soft and perfectly cut and I can pretty much promise you will live in it // save version here) -wearing XS
Madewell Cardigan – Wardrobe staple! Splurge version here (so good – Abby and I both agreed this cardigan would be an amazing gift for someone special around the holidays – either version)
AG The Legging Raw Hem Skinny Jean (the Holy Grail of denim – perfect fit, cut, wash, feel – TTS)
Rag and Bone Booties (I didn’t buy these last year and regretted it all year. Another splurge, but these are seriously amazing. I own one other expensive pair of booties by Joie and have worn them for years. It’s one of those cost per wear things…)

July 14, 2017 at 11:43 amLove this!! Thanks for all of the ideas and info! Had the red scalloped sweater in my cart (before even seeing it on your post!), checked this morning and it’s already sold out! I’m going back to teaching in the fall (near you, actually) after being home for 7 years with my two boys and living in jeans and yoga pants, so I’m trying to take advantage of this sale for new work clothes! We are on same wavelength bc I bought the tweed dress and soft cardigan on my own, so I was proud of myself that you had it on here too! Ha, thanks again, so fun to read your blog and see your ideas!
