Of all the great pieces on sale during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, I get most excited to shop for sweaters, denim, and shoes. These are the items that I live in during the fall/winter months and cost per wear end up being well worth every penny. I’ve created three looks with some of my favorites pieces at various price points. Now that public access is here (and everyone can shop.. yay!) I have done my best to suggest alternatives if an item should sell out or is not available in your size by creating a “similar look” for each outfit. Also worth noting, these pieces can be mixed and matched to fit your own unique style….
Casual Cool in Neutrals
I don’t like to pick favorites, but this sweater, denim, bootie combo is definitely up there. I sized up in this sweater (normally a xs/s, but wearing a medium) for a slouchier, off the shoulder look. These jeans are the end. I am known to get overly excited about denim, but if you buy one thing in the sale this year, I would recommend these (even if they are on backorder!). The raw hem detail gives just enough of that undone vibe that I am 100% okay with the lack of rips (longtime readers know I have a thing for distressed denim). And the booties – the one thing I regretted not buying last year. These are definitely a splurge item, but the cut, the tassels, the color – ugh, so in love.
Classic Prep in Stripes
Cashmere turtleneck lovers, take note! This striped sweater is a classic – an investment pieces that will never go out of style. It is office appropriate, but can also be dressed down or layered on (how great would this jacket look over top). This look pictured is casual Friday ready with a light gray wash denim and black mules. If you don’t own a pair of mules, these will be everywhere again this fall. And besides the fact that they are trending, who doesn’t love an easy slip on? The bag brings the look together (hello, bold stripe) and is another piece that can be used to carry a laptop or just run errands on the weekends.
On-the-Go in Bold Colors
Every wardrobe needs a bold, textured knit. The cut and quality of this sweater made me do a double take when I saw the price. And the jeans? I put them on and immediately Abby said she wanted to steal them off my body. They are the perfect high rise with a fun exposed button detail (perfect for front tucking which I do with almost all of my sweaters). The released hem is just added bonus. These slip on sneaks are a great bootie alternative and come in many other color combinations.
