Forty six hours in Miami without the kids? Time to bring out my favorite color: summer whites. And a lot of them. If you follow along on instagram, I shared snippets of my whirlwind trip, but here is a closer look at two of the outfits I packed into my little carry on. Yep. Pretty sure I was the only blogger who accomplished the carry on challenge, but I digress. So, why did I go to Miami, you ask? I was invited by ShopStyle to attend the historic soccer match, El Clasico, between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. They also treated us to an amazing brunch and some relaxation at the beautiful Edition Hotel. I was so excited to be able to bring Alison along (I figured with our collective 7 boys we could both use a girls weekend) and she snapped a few outfit photos between cocktails by the pool, brunch…..and more cocktails by the pool.

Look One: White Out Night Out

For our first night out in Miami, I decided to go with an all white look from Tuckernuck. I added a pop of color in my earrings and went with a neutral, yet walkable shoe. I will definitely be pairing this top with cutoff shorts for our beach vacation later this month. We ended up eating at PAO, an Asian fusion restaurant at the Faena Hotel. The ceviche, fried chicken with banana ketchup, and grilled greens did not disappoint. We ended the night at a bar called The Broken Shaker, a famous bar located inside a “high end” hostel. Alison I discussed at dinner how being “cool” isn’t even a thing anymore, and then quickly retracted those comments when we saw this crowd.  Note to self: next time pack a crop top. After scoping the scene, we quickly ordered a glass of wine (only to later find out they are known for their cocktails, bummer) and tried not to act like two thirty-something moms with lots of kids who were just trying desperately to stay up until 11 just so we could say we did. And we did. Like 11:03-ish or something like that…..

Look 2: Smocked White Dress

Brunch anyone? ShopStyle planned the most amazing brunch for the second day of our trip. I absolutely fell in love with this dress – colorful, clean lines, fun, and super comfortable. It was a bit of a splurge, but I have never seen anything quite like it and sometimes when packing for a trip, I like to bring dresses that don’t need much else (carry on challenge, accomplished). I repurposed the same clutch from the previous night, grabbed my sunnies and done.

The final event of our trip was the soccer game. ShopStyle surprised us with our own personalized jerseys (which my kids are already fighting over), so when in doubt, I wore it with what makes everything in my book look a little better – high waist distressed denim.
