In Pennsylvania, summers are too hot, winters are too cold, but fall? Fall is pretty perfect. As we transition into one of my favorite times of year, yes, most mornings I am freezing at the bus stop and then sweating at the bus stop in the afternoon – but the fact that you get a spectrum of seasons in one day is the best of all worlds. The key to making my wardrobe work for unpredictability is layers. One piece that I believe every woman should own is an anorak. It’s the perfect midweight layer to wear as the seasons change and not to mention, it’s chic and yes, waterproof.
The one I am wearing (under $100!) is slightly oversized for a more modern fit (and also great for layering bulky sweaters underneath). It looks just as great over jeans and a tee as it does workout leggings and sneaks or even a pretty fall floral mini dress and boots. Basically you can take this anorak with you for everything on your fall bucket list. And what’s on my fall bucket list?
- Actually plant the mums that I bought
- Attend a fall festival (preferably at a winery)
- Go on a family hike when the leaves are changing (with no kids whining)
- Survive Halloween (and steal as many pumpkin Reese’s as I can)
