We get this question a lot: Can you really wear white after Labor Day? We certainly think so. But then again, I also wear jeans with so many rips in them that my husband often asks me if I fell off a motorcycle. It’s fashion, people! In our humble opinion (Abby is the other half of this confident belief), yes white after Labor Day is totally ok. How to wear white after Labor Day becomes the question. I love wearing white in the colder weather months to create a softer palette. Here I took white denim and paired it with neutral cozy knit. Adding fabrics like faux fur, leather or velvet create a lux rich look that is more reflective of the season. Sort of like sipping hot chocolate with whipped cream (the super fancy gourmet kind, of course).
This knit definitely falls in the splurge category, but the cut and the drape is so good. The high vents, the subtle bell sleeve, an a slouchy neckline that can be worn on or off one shoulder.
I’ve pretty much been drooling over this velvet cross body for months now and when I got the opportunity to feature some of my favorite pieces from Rebecca Minkoff, it was a sign. It’s the perfect pop of blush and a great way to incorporate this trending fabric into your look.
And for those who need a more practical daytime bag, we’ve got you covered. There isn’t a color combo that is more classic than black, white and camel. Swap out the cross body for this easy tote for work, errands, whatever!
I have always been a HUGE fan of Rebecca Minkoff. As soon as I started making more money than to just off-set my drive thru Starbucks habit, the first thing I bought myself was a Rebecca Minkoff bag. This one to be exact. I love that her bags are classic but have a little bit of personality and have SMART, functional design. This tote fits a 13 inch laptop and has expandable sizes for all of your other stuff, but the best part…………how cool is this:
Yes, hidden in the tassel of this bag is a rechargeable phone charger.
Friends, mindblown.
Ok really I was just trying to figure out a way to include this “outtake” in the post. But really, how genius?
And saving the outfit makers for last – the velvet bow shoes. I mean what more can I say? Abby tried them on, took a lap, and said, “Yeah. I think I need these.”

October 19, 2017 at 7:53 amAre the mules true to size? I’m typically a 6.5/7, but only size 5 and 6 are left. 🙁

October 19, 2017 at 11:28 pmI love this outfit! Is the sweater washable? And do you have any ideas for more polished, wear-to-work-on-a-casual-day white jeans?

October 19, 2017 at 11:32 pmHi Nina! I would probably dry clean.. its new for me so I haven’t actually washed it yet but I normally dry clean all of my sweaters just to be safe. For work I would go with the non distressed (obviously) and a chambray with ballet flats and a draped sweater vest! A pretty neutral palette!
