A Matcha Moment…

Is it just me or has this past week been insane? After going non-stop for what seemed like too long, I put everything aside yesterday morning and went to yoga. It was…..amazing. A little zen, a lot of sweat, it was everything I needed to reset and give myself a reminder that it is, in fact, okay to stop and do something for yourself. There is something about this time of year that is just go-go-go and before we know it, it’s over. And then it’s January. And is there anything worse than January? Sorry that was mean, but you know what I mean, right? If you read my little note in our holiday gift guide, I mentioned that my goal of the holiday season this year was to really enjoy it. And I wish that for all of you as well.

And that’s what brings me to matcha (otherwise known as finely ground green tea leaves). Yeah it’s trending, yadda yadda, but it’s also delicious and one of those drinks that forces you to just slow down for a few minutes, sip and….enjoy. My sister Rachel is the queen of matcha (you can follow her over at @wholesomeofthetime) and is sharing her morning matcha recipe. It’s great anytime of day, but it has become the coffee replacement for most of my sisters. The selling point? It’s all about that sustainable energy versus the jittery rush. Plus the add-ins (hello, collagen) will have you feeling your best from the inside out. Basically what I’m trying to say – when the craze of the season gets to you, have a matcha moment….

Matcha Recipe:

Ingredients….
1 cup hot water
½ teaspoon matcha
1 tablespoon coconut butter
1 scoop collagen
½ teaspoon maca (optional)
½ teaspoon ashwagandha (optional)

…I like mine sweetened, just a touch.
Blend, pour, sip, enjoy.
