Q: Fitness Regimen: How do you maintain a healthy lifestyle being a working mom?
A: To be honest, I don’t have a regular fitness routine and I have come to terms with the fact that at this point in my life, that is okay. Moms with young children (working or staying home) – it’s so incredibly hard to find the time for regular workouts. Before we know it our kids will be teenagers and we will have 4 hours to ourselves in the morning before they wake up, right? Enough time to run a marathon, no? Right now, that time is simply not a reality. That being said, I try to move as much as I can and make a point to go to yoga or go for a run 1-2 times per week. I work really late at night (this job never sleeps!), so getting up early to squeeze in a workout is one of my resolutions, but I need to go to bed earlier to make that happen. Because I don’t get to workout as much as I used to, I eat “fairly” clean, small meals throughout the day. I have always said, I eat whatever I want, just not a lot of it. It’s all about portion control! In doing this, I never feel deprived. I also eat very slowly so my stomach has time to catch up with my mind. I have a glass of wine every night or a bowl of ice cream (but never both). Wine usually wins. Here is a post I wrote last year sharing my healthy secrets….
Q: Where do you keep all of the clothes you buy or are sent? Do you keep them all? Donate? Give to friends? So curious! It’s a lot of stuff. I think about that for all of the bloggers you follow….(you’re my favorite!)
A: Ok so clearly I picked this question because of the last part 🙂 But in all seriousness some form of this question was asked many times and the answer is: all of the above. I do get a lot of clothes sent to me, but I also buy my own. Because of what I do, I need to keep my closet very relevant/current (because we know what happens if I link to something that is no longer available! Yikes!!) That said, when something goes out of stock I let my sisters go shopping in my closets, consign things, donate etc…My closet is NOT big by any stretch, so I’ve gotten creative with bins under my bed, stealing space from my boys’ closets etc….
Q: How do you afford all of these clothes?!
A: I had to include this question because I am sure that question has crossed many of your minds at one point! Without clothes I would have no blog and no business. It would be like walking into an empty store and just seeing my smiling face. Maybe some of you visit this blog for my smiling face (thank you!), but I have a hunch that most of you come here because you are busy, want to look good, but don’t have time to look for cute clothes, so you buy what I recommend and are on with your day. In a way, I am a free personal shopper for many of you. Brands recognize that I am sending traffic through to their sites because I use affiliate links (which means they can tell who clicks on my links and buys something). As a thank you, I get a small kickback from the retailer which, in part, goes towards purchasing new clothes to give all of you fresh content daily (at no additional expense to you).
Q: Would love to hear about family planning. Did you always know you wanted 4 kids? How far apart are they? Tips for balancing more than one and if the transition from 2 to 3 kids is harder than the transition from 1 to 2 kids?
A: Yes, I always knew I wanted 4 kids (at least). And now that I have 4 kids I know that I am DONE. After my third baby was born I was very overwhelmed and decided to give myself and my body a break before considering a 4th. My first three boys are all exactly 24 months apart to a T! They are all born in April. My baby is three years younger than my third son. You can read more about my thoughts on deciding whether or not your family is complete here. I am from a big family (I have four sisters), so the whole loud house thing, chaos, people everywhere – it’s what I know and love. My sisters are my best friends and I want my boys to have those same relationships. And I think it’s working because even though they pretend to hate each other, most nights we find them all snuggled up together in one twin bed.
In terms of transitioning from 2-3 verses 1-2… it’s all such a blur! I honestly think having one kid was the hardest, but probably because I had no clue what I was doing. The transition from 3 to 4 kids was definitely the easiest. By that point, I had the infant thing down and the juggling thing down pat, and I was confident enough to ask for help when I needed it. That is really the key.
Q: Face lotion recommendations? My face gets soooo dry in the winter!
A: I am so glad someone asked this! I am a big fan of Kiehl’s and swear by a few of their hydrating facial products – the Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Mask and I also use the Ultra Facial Cream. I did a full post on my favorite Kiehl’s products recently and although it was sponsored content, I will never post about something that I don’t truly love and use. Accepting sponsored posts is one of the ways I am able to do this for a living, however the products I use and the opinions I share are always my own. Just wanted to add that in here because there were some comments from readers asking if I really liked it or was just saying that because it was sponsored 🙂 …. yes, I LOVE it! Another skincare line I use is SkinCeuticals – for hydration I use their B5 Gel, I love their CE Ferulic (super pricey, but lasts a long time – just use a few drops daily!)
Most asked questions….
How tall are you? What size are you? What color are your walls? What color are your floors? Will you promote my product/service?
I am 5’4″. I usually wear a size 0-2 and size 25 in jeans (depending on brand). My walls are Revere Pewter (full post here). My floors are Jaco Bean by Minwax. And maybe. The goal of the blog is to find products and services that I think are best for my readers and that I use/wear and love.
Q: Help! I am going on vacation/ to a wedding/ on a date/ to a tea party/ to a masquerade party? What do I wear?

Q: How do you stay sane?
A: I’m not! I have the same stresses as everyone, but this is truly my happy place. Finding an outlet that I was passionate about has helped keep me level.
A little bit about this duster I am wearing. I am in LOVE with this piece! You can wear it opened or buttoned (I love it it open). It is all season too – I can totally see myself wearing it with jean shorts and a tank and even over a bathing suit as a cover up. It adds a little fun flair to a basic jeans/tee outfit.
More boots with the fur…..
