In my recent trip to Florida I snuck in a few photo shoots so I could give a little sneak peek into spring (and humor all of the readers who are not currently freezing and looking for some outfit inspiration). Hands down one of the best pieces I packed was this gorgeous kimono. It adds a colorful pop to any basic outfit and also looks amazing over a swimsuit as a cover up. Kimonos are everywhere right now and they tend to vary in length and in print so if you are looking for something shorter/longer I’ve linked some other options below. If you are heading somewhere on spring break – they are a packing MUST! Roll it up in a ball, toss it in your suitcase and you can look instantly styled.

I played around with styling this kimono on an all white look and also with jean shorts and my new favorite (budget friendly) mules. But the rules around how to wear a kimono are really that there are no rules. If your outfit seems like it is missing something, maybe it is this? Try it over a solid maxi dress or that reader favorite ruched tank dress? DEFINITELY! Black skinny jeans, black tank and pumps would also make for a perfect date night look.

Ready to kim on over?

Sorry. Had to.
