Three Ways to Style a Button Down for Summer

July 24, 2018

A classic button down is a wardrobe staple and something you can wear in every single season. During the summer months I find myself grabbing a button down as an easy layering piece. It’s lighter than a cardigan and serves it’s purpose to cut the chill when the AC strikes.

I love a great button down paired with your favorite pair of denim shorts as a more traditional way to wear this piece. Add that laid back, relaxed cool girl vibe by rolling the sleeves, popping open that top button (or three), and taking the inner bottom flap and give it a little tuck. Add in a great pair of sunnies and your outfit is 100 percent.

But how can we take a new spin on the trusty old button down? Do like the J.Crew models do, and try tying it over a maxi dress to give another staple piece a new look and laid back, but super chic vibe.

Or bring it to the beach. Why buy a new cover up when your button down doubles as one for you already…..
