When the clock strikes 12 on Labor Day, does anyone get the urge to pack up their entire summer wardrobe into those vacuum sealed bags and replace it with all things fall? If my kids have taught me anything about fashion, it’s that most of your pieces are, in fact, seasonless. Ok yes, I have “those kids” who wear shorts all year long – that’s why they invented those dri-fit leggings right? You can just wear them UNDER your shorts year-round despite the 27 degree temps? Fashion at its finest (snort).
But in all seriousness, I wanted to share some pieces that you can wear now and later with a few additions/swap outs to your wardrobe – no dri-fit leggings required. Nordstrom’s swoon-worthy fall selections are already out in full force and there are a few must have versatile pieces that you need to transition your closet between the seasons: an amazing jacket, dressed up boots, casual booties, and lightweight knits. These four items can be mixed and matched with any summer outfit to make it work for the upcoming season the and somewhat unpredictable weather in store. Thank goodness for buy online pick up in store (and curbside drop off for that matter!).
Here are two wear now, wear later looks that will take you effortlessly from summer to fall….
White Denim Now…..
White Denim Later….
And those white jeans that most of the population reserves for the months between May and August, can actually be worn year-round. Swap out your tanks with a fall forward sweater and your sandals for a pair of booties and you’ve got yourself a refreshed, bright look that is still seasonally appropriate – and another option to break up the blue jeans you’re likely wearing on repeat.

The Floral Dress Now……
The Floral Dress Later…..
Before you pack up those florally summer dresses, rethink them for fall with a few minor changes. Yes, you can store away your sandals and replace them with a fashion forward sock boot (that happens to be insanely comfortable), and layer it up with a jacket or cardigan for added warmth and instant style.

So, the moral of the story here, kids, is that booties and sweaters make anything possible. Now I’m off to have an iced, not-so-spiced, half shot of pumpkin latte to ease my palette from one season to the next. Transitional season eating…..hmm, maybe I need a blog post on that?
Thank you to Nordstrom and ShopStyle for partnering with me on this post!
