With the unofficial END of summer just days away (tear), we are getting tons of requests about what fall trends we are loving this season. Over the next few weeks we will be dishing our favorites and giving all the outfit inspiration you could ask for (and more), but for those who like to get a jumpstart on their shopping, we’ve put together a fall trends report which includes the styles we are most excited about with our favorite pieces in each category.
I’m not one to dive into a trend 100% because my personal style is pretty simple and casual, but it’s always fun to add elements of a trend into your current wardrobe via accessories or in another small/sublte way. Or just go all out! Do you! Without further adieu, here is the very official (ha) Motherchic Fall Trends Report…
Trend 1: Mad for Plaid – Ok you got us. Plaid is always a trend for fall and we are not mad about it. To spice things up, try it out in a new silhouette or an unexpected place – like a shoe or a bag.
Trend 2: Metallics + Velvet – The “Un-holiday Holiday” trend, if you will. Shiny metallics and soft, luscious velvet fabrics aren’t just for your office holiday party in December anymore. The key to this trend is moderation, so you don’t look like an intergalactic martian while apple picking or wine tasting. If you’re wearing a velvet dress or velvet pants, tone it down with muted shoes & accessories or pair it with a clean t-shirt. Now everyday can truly be a holiday.
Trend 3: Western Details – Studs, fringe, rustic belts, snakeskin booties…. oh yes, all of this! It’s time to get cowgirl chic by integrating these pieces into your wardrobe. Who’s ready to saddle up?!
Trend 4: Everything PINK – Move over millennial pink! This fall is all about a brighter pink hue (think fuchsia) and it adds that perfect playful pop to any look. Go subtle with accessories or bold with a head-to-to monochromatic look. And if you just want to test the waters, there’s always lipstick!
Trend 5: Animal Print – Me-OW! This is a favorite trend over at TMCHQ, where we’re all true believers that leopard print is indeed a neutral. A fun thing to try is mixing this print with another print — for example, pairing leopard shoes with a floral (or striped) dress. For a more elevated, classic look, use it to spice up your normal jeans & white t-shirt or LBD.
Which trend are you most excited to try? Or try them all just, you know, not all at the same time.
