Beaches Turks & Caicos

November 2, 2018

If you asked me my state of mind three weeks ago it was complete and utter panic. For someone who NEVER (ok rarely) travels for work I had NINE full days of time away in the month of October alone. Fast forward three weeks, I am now home, I survived, and it was like I was never gone. And now I know, yes, I can do this. And it was actually kind of nice to have a “working break” from life at home.

Since becoming a mom, I’ve become a million times more anxious and controlling in every facet of my life – “Do I need to include a note about running the dishwasher?”, “What if one of the kids gets sick when I’m away?”, “Will the babysitter remember to lock the doors at night?”, “OMG what if something happens to me when I am FLYING ACROSS THE COUNTRY?”

Breathing helped.

And so did going.

Now I know I can do it and that the kids were absolutely fine….thank goodness for grandparents, friends, babysitters….and FaceTime!

While I was gone, SO many of you asked about my stay at the Beaches Resort in Turks & Caicos. Before I left, I really didn’t know what to expect. I had little time to research where I was going because I was too busy writing notes for the 87 people helping with my kids 🙂 I assumed it would be a kid-friendly place in a beautiful island. Good cocktails and a comfy bed would only be added bonus.

Upon arrival I was BLOWN away. Yes, it was kid-friendly but not “in your face kid-friendly” if that makes sense? Can two adults enjoy this place without kids? Absolutely. There are five villages in the resort with accommodations including everything from single rooms, to suites (ours even had bunk beds!!) to waterfront villas with private pools. There are too many pools to count, a waterslide park, an X-Box Lounge (I mean, my kids are already sold), an amazing spa, tons of restaurants, entertainment, Swim. Up. Bars. Need I say more? You can check out all of the activities here.

And can we just talk about this “all inclusive” factor?! I have never stayed at an all inclusive resort until this trip. Aside from the portion control factor when food and drink is “free”…. this was definitely something I could get used to. Not having to worry about carrying money around or tipping (no really, they wear buttons telling you NOT to tip) makes the vacation even more relaxing (yes, even golf and KIDS CAMP is included)

And on top of it all, there’s this view….

Clearly we didn’t have any fun 🙂

Bottom line, we cannot wait to go back (with kids this time). Please let me know what questions you have about the resort and I’m happy to share!

You look fabulous! We are leaving tomorrow, with our kids to this resort. Any last minute tips/ideas? Anything you’d pack for your kids when you go back? Thanks! from a fellow Philly area fan 🙂

We are going here for Spring Break! With 2 kids.
I’m a bit concerned about food quality- and waiting at restaurants for tables/bars for drinks, when they are at 100% capacity! Would love your insight!
