Me Time Must-Haves

February 14, 2019

Valentine’s Day may be over, but the love doesn’t have to end…and that love my friend, is to yourself. With all of the “Mom Mom Mom Mom Mom Mom” (are you exhausted yet just from reading that), us moms 1000000% deserve a little me time, am I right? Yes, a little trip to Florida with my 2 youngest boys was indeed just what I needed for a mini reset, but it’s not always in the cards to take a trip (nevermind last minute!). So Moms, let’s take back our time and some of our sanity. Even if it’s just for a mere 10 minutes it feels oh-so good to recharge the batteries before getting back into Mom Mode.

Now for the million dollar question: What do I do?! And no, doing laundry or going to the grocery store alone are not options girl. So to save you from getting yourself into more work around the house, I’ve compiled a guide to all of the me time must-haves for you. Enjoy and RELAX!

Get Comfy

Karl Lagerfeld once said “Sweatpants are a sign of defeat. You lost control of your life, so you bought some sweatpants.” Clearly Karl Lagerfeld has not had tiny humans tugging at his sleeve nonstop and does not understand how comfortable they are!! The very first step to a little me time is to ditch the denim and throw on your comfiest pair of sweatpants (or leggings, or pajamas). And if you needed any suggestions on what to wear, I’ve rounded up a few comfortable options for you. Because retail therapy counts as me time, too.

Read a Book

You know that book you’ve been dying to read but literally have not had a chance to grab? So crack open that book and a nice glass of red (I totally condone sipping while reading) and turn those pages girl.

Pamper Yourself

Easier said than done sometimes, right? For me it’s even as simple as lighting one of my favorite candles and aimlessly scrolling through Instagram (#guilty). Another one of my ultimate go-tos is a nice face mask for 2 reasons: 1. you leave them on for about 10 minutes so it’s just enough time to slip away, and 2. it will probably scare your kids away so you can actually enjoy your mini-cation. I also love facial rollers, it’s like a little exercise for my skin and feels ahhh-mazing.
