My Current Skincare Routine

July 26, 2019
Thank you to Macy’s and ShopSstyle for sponsoring this post.

I know bloggers and influencers rely on the “I always get asked about…” but if had a dime for every time I get asked about my skincare routine. You know the saying. The problem is everyone has different skin, just like everyone has different hair. Some can hold a curl while others cannot. What is going to work for you, may not work for me. What I can tell you is that I’ve come to trust a few brands, and they offer a plethora of options for every skin type. I’ve tried a lot of skincare products, but these are the few power players that have really made a difference for my skin.

With Macy’s This Is Big Sale, it is the perfect time to test out a new product or stock up on current favorites. Use promo code BIG to save 20%. Macy’s has all my go-to brand favorites, including luxury brands like Sunday Riley, Caudalie, SK-II and Perricone MD. Now, if I could only go back in time and tell my 18-year-old self to start using under eye cream.

I am not a creature of routine, but as my mother taught me and her mother taught her, and so on… always take off your make-up before going to bed. I absolutely love this Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm. It is super gentle around the eyes and feels like silk in your fingertips. If getting your beauty rest had a first step, this is it.

Exfoliation comes in so many forms. You can scrub away dead skin cells with a gritty scrub… or you can treat yourself to a mini facial with one of these m-61 by Blue Mercury PowerGlow Peel 1 Minute 1-Step Exfoliating Facial Peels. Yes, this is a mini facial and the tingly feeling means you know it’s working. If you have sensitive skin, this is definitely something to test, but if I could only use one beauty product for the rest of my life… this would be it! Did I mention it also helps to reduce fine lines and your skin’s overall texture? Icing on the cake.

Fight the Wrinkles

If there was one tip I have about skincare, it’s to start the fight against wrinkles before they start. And if you are behind in this battle, a must-try are these Elizabeth Arden Retinol Ceramide Capsules. The serum in these capsules is super potent but lightweight and absorbs quickly. I will let the 450+ reviews on this product speak for itself.

Nourish the Under Eye

Avocado Toast… everybody has heard of it and most likely Instagrammed it, but have you ever put it on your face? The Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment With Avocado is exactly that creamy. And what is a better way to nourish your under eyes than adding a touch of avocado? I’ll be having my avocado and eating it too.

Hydrate & Enrich

Vitamin C has to be the biggest skincare trend of 2019. With so many amazing benefits, you’d be silly not to try it. But this Sunday Riley C.E.O. Vitamin C Rich Hydration Cream ups the ante on other Vitamin C creams. This Sunday Riley Cream uses a special Vitamin C called (THD) which has been dubbed the gold standard of Vitamin C. So, in my own words, this stuff is like liquid gold.

Dear 18-year-old self, Please wear more sunscreen. We know the harmful effects of the sun, yet we yearn for that sun-kissed glow. Ladies- let’s be real sunscreen is a must. Because no one yearns for wrinkles. COOLA is a go-to brand of sunscreen for my entire family and me. This COOLA Mineral Sunscreen has all the SPF fighting power, without all the additives. This brand is NON-GMO, organic, cruelty-free, fragrance-free, preservative-free, and vegan… do I need to go on?

So, in a nutshell my skin care routine consists of cleansing, exfoliating and lots of wrinkle fighting. And in case you need some more options, I rounded up some other tried and tested favorites below…

    Hi Lindsey,
I’m a little disappointed as I loved your post on skincare and placed an order online at Macy’s for several of the items you recommended. I applied the BIG code for the 20% discount and was told my items didn’t qualify.

Hi Ann! So sorry to hear that. I was not given a list of products that would be on sale. I just recommended items that I truly use and love. I will be more aware in the future to denote items that will be included or not. Thanks for the feedback!

don’t miss a post
