Office Holiday Party

November 22, 2019

Ok ladies, let’s talk about your office holiday party. First, it’s probably not the best idea to talk to your boss about a promotion after a few glasses of cabernet. Or tell them how you really feel about them. Let’s just keep that stuff under wraps girlfriend. Second, let’s make sure whatever you’re wearing is office-appropriate. A feather miniskirt is probably not on HR’s list of holiday work attire so to avoid any internal conflicts or write-ups at work, we’re here to help solve the dilemma.

Something I was taught from a younger age was that if you need to ask yourself “Is this appropriate for work?” then more that likely, it’s probably not appropriate. When in doubt, go with the longer length of dress/skirt. This doesn’t mean you have to look boring! My take on the office holiday party outfit is this midi-length sweater dress. It ensures that nothing will “fall out”, you’re able to appropriately bend/squat to pick something up, and keeps you cozy. It’s an easy outfit to wear both to the office and the holiday party, just keep a blazer with you during the day in case of any meetings. I will say that the dress runs a tad on the smaller/bodycon side, so if you are worried about that I would size up.

Not into wearing dresses? No problem! Check out how I styled these sassy lace pants for the holidays. Just as HR-approved and just as adorable.

Style Tip// If you know you are going to be on your feet for the majority of the party, throw on a pair of block heels. Also, if your party is right after work, stash a smaller bag/clutch in your work bag. You can keep your essentials with you without lugging around everything else!
