It’s January, so when is a better time to talk about swimsuits?! But in all seriousness I just booked our tickets for spring break. And if you book your tickets for spring break you will probably need a swim suit to go with it. You get where this is going, right? January is actually a great time to check out the newest swim trends for the year because lots of retailers are offering their resort collections and my March the picking are slim. Besides my tried and true favorites, I’ve rounded up some of the newest trends and brands to check out in our 2020 Resort Edit.

Color Block
Summersalt has been the “it” brand recently. Or maybe it’s just me seeing it all over my Instagram feed. Either way Summersalt has perfected the fit of their suits… and so much more. Bum coverage, check. Styles for long torsos, check. All styles under $100, check. The most on-trend colors and styles, check, check!! Speaking of trends, I’ve seen color blocking almost everywhere. But especially in swim. Strategic placement of style lines allows for some very flattering fits.

Sporty Spice
Sporty details have been making a splash. Literally. Camo prints, high neck styles and surf inspired looks are not only trending, but comfortable and versatile. High neck styles not only protect the sensitive skin on your décolletage but also protect against unfortunate suit slips. As a mom of four rambunctious boys I know a thing or two about needing coverage. And when in doubt, a great pair of board shorts.

Skin is In

Ok, I know what you are thinking, but I am talking about animal skin or animal prints to be more specific. If anyone thought leopard or snakeskin was going anywhere they were WRONG! Almost every swim brand is offering swim in animal prints this season. We’ve rounded up our favorites below…
All the Femme Details
For me, a little ruffle is all I need. Ok, and maybe a little peace and quiet. But this season has no shortage of feminine styles. A little bow here, a ruffle there, and lots and lots of lace-ups.

And if you give a girl a bathing suit, she is going to need a cover-up and a hat to go with it.
