Thank you to Nordstrom and ShopStyle for sponsoring this post.
Ok truth, we have yet to go skiing this year. Part of it is due to the lack of snow on Pennsylvania mountains, and the other part is just not being able to find the time to go. Last year we introduced our kids to skiing and they quickly became obsessed. Imagine three little boys at the top of the mountain, knees bent, goggles in place, three, two, one and straight down the mountain they go. They are completely fearless.
And I am a nervous wreck, obviously.
I do ski, albeit I’m a little rusty and often become the default hot chocolate-getter/bathroom-runner/pre-schooler entertainer (although this year we are getting our littlest guy into lessons). Moral of the story, you won’t see me jumping mogels anytime soon. More than likely I’ll be in the lodge sipping something warm and checking out all of the aprés ski style.
Nordstrom reached out and asked me to take a look at their winter boots and coats and immediately I knew what I wanted to style – something sporty chic to wear on a snowy winter adventure. You may or may not be surprised to know the following facts. Topshop has a super cool ski line, and Hunter makes boots other than rubber rain ones. Pull sporty meets preppy together with a classic Madewell sweatshirt and I’ve got my apres ski look ready to roll. It either needs to snow or I need to buy some plane tickets to Vermont. Or maybe Utah? Ok FINE, Colorado.
Topshop SNO Water Repellant Ski Jacket // Fashionistas take note! This is the ultimate fashion meets function ski jacket – the cinched waist, the faux fur trim, and yes it’s super warm and water repellent. I sized up for layering purposes and wearing US 6.
Topshop SNO Thermal Leggings // While I wouldn’t classify these as “thermal” they are more of a fun layer with a super cool vibe. I love the banded waisted and pop of neon. Wearing US 4 (size chart is accurate).
Hunter Snow Boots // Super cushy, super warm, super waterproof. The best part for me is that they are easy to slip on and off and flexible enough to drive in. You can also adjust the calf width with the elastic toggle (also helps to keep snow out!). I bought my normal size, but if between I would size down.
Madewell Apres Ski Sweatshirt // This sweatshirt is all about the details. It’s slightly shrunken and pairs best with high waisted leggings or jeans. The sleeves have cute little pleats for a little feminine flair. Wearing XS, but would size up if between.
Le Specs Sunglasses // A little oversized, a touch cat eye, a lot chic.
