Move over sourdough starter, there’s a new project in town! We have been seeing embroidered sweatshirts everywhere these days and thought to ourselves…. why not make our own?! We teamed up with the ladies at Social Threads to create our first ever (limited!) DIY embroidery kit. Each kit sells for $59 ($80 value) and includes a white Alternative Apparel Sweatshirt ($44), embroidery thread/needle, inspiration cards, and 2 colorful tile bracelets ($16 each). These make a fun gift and are also insanely fun to do yourself. Myself and my entire team made our own sweatshirts and couldn’t stop texting our progress and final result!
I have ZERO sewing experience (I literally had to google how to thread a needle), but found that really anyone can do this! Abby made a how-to video below and used an embroidery ring because she’s fancy like that! You absolutely do not need one to make your sweatshirt. Mine was done completely free hand with a simple back stitch.
