5 Things

June 16, 2020

As we begin to have a taste of summer, I thought it would be fun to share a few things the Motherchic Team has been loving. You know, the little things that make us happy each day as we navigate this untraditional time. Whether it’s a beauty item, a fashion item, or just something we’ve been using on repeat, we figured why not share those things we’ve been grabbing daily. Who knows, maybe we will make this a regular thing and even spotlight some of you and your current crushes. If you have something to share that the Motherchic community needs to know about, email it to us at hello@themotherchic.com! And with that, here are our 5 things….

Lindsey’s Must-Have Summer Accessory

I am a jeans and a tank girl through and through, but these bracelets by Victoria Emerson make any outfit instantly styled. It’s that undone, laid-back, not-trying-too-hard vibe with a simple magnetic clip. Yes, these are all one piece and I find myself wearing them every single day… with sweatshirts, dresses, swimsuits… yes, yes and yes!

Don’t be mad, but the exact one I’m wearing is sold out, but they have tons of new arrivals here.

Abby’s Essential Kitchen Pan

It’s no secret that Lindsey has been obsessing over the Always Pan from Our Place. It claims to replace 8 kitchen tools! I had to see what the fuss was about. From the moment I took it out of the box I was super impressed. It is very light weight, has a unique color and came with all the bells and whistles. The nesting strainer is perfect for steaming vegetables or making pasta. The non-stick coating is perfect for making eggs. Let’s just say I have used it for almost every meal. And clean up is a snap! For a limited time you can use code MOTHERCHIC10 for $10 off the pan.

Christine’s Summer Go-To Hair Saver

I am usually not one to blow dry my hair, mostly because it’s a lot of effort for long hair! My hair naturally has a little wave to it, but sometimes it needs a little…shzuz. While I normally use this oil or this creme after showering, I stumbled upon this wave spray from Ouai and was instantly hooked. It adds just enough texture and lift to your hair without that early-2000s, crunch-scrunch feeling. After it completely dries, I sometimes either run my fingers or a wide-tooth comb through my locks for that just-came-off-the-beach, surfer waves look. Needless to say, this will be a staple for me.

Beth’s Essential Beauty Item

Sunscreen is a must these days. Actually, everyday, rain or shine. But I never liked how greasy and sticky most brands make my skin feel. Supergoop’s Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40 is an SPF game changer. It goes on clear, smooth and leaves your skin feeling soft. It honestly feels like you are wearing nothing, but rest assured you are covered! It goes on like a primer so it is perfect under makeup or on its own. If you haven’t tried it you are missing out. And no one wants that!

Liz’s Ready-For-Anything Footwear

Trending, yes? Mad about it. No way! When comfortable, chic running sneakers are having a moment, we are here for it. True, my mom introduced me to this brand and insisted that all of my sisters get a pair because they are that good. Much of my summer is spent outdoors trying to keep my four kids busy so sneakers are the footwear I grab for every morning. These are super lightweight and breathable…. perfect for summer and beyond. I’ve also recently started going on “running dates” with my husband because we will take what we can get these days. And yes, our shoes are twinning. He wears the mens version (great Father’s Day gift!)…
