To celebrate the world opening up (even though it may be short-lived), I’m all about making sure I make the most of every moment, and that includes my outfits. While I love my tried and true summer basics (read white tank + denim shorts), here are two ways to break them apart for a more fashion-forward warm weather look. White tank, but make it fashion…..

Take a great tank (this one is double lined and NOT see through) with an on trend detail (hello, square neck) and make it fashion. Swap out your favorite shorts for a flirty skirt this season. Smocking is one of my favorite summery details and I think we can all agree that skirts have an undeniable comfort factor. With a few additional accessories in the form of a fun bag (exact sold out, but similar here), and affordable sunnies, this look is begging for a lunch alfresco invite!

Denim Shorts amped up…..

Of course you will find me in denim shorts and a comfy tee more times than not, but if you want to amp it up, all it takes is a little tweaking. Nordstrom brings back this button front camisole in new versions every year and it’s an effortlessly chic staple. I love the preppy vibe juxtaposed with distressed denim. And again, the accessories (bag + hat) pull it all together. Now, did someone say backyard bbq? Oh, and don’t forget the perfect summer-weight cardigan for late nights of firefly catching!
