After months of “letting my nails go” I am ready to polish them back up again! And for my summer nail color I am feeling the bright happy colors, specifically the orange-y reds and coral-y pinks. I even through in a classic but sometimes unexpected golden hue that reminds me of the summer sun. Whether you are DIY-ing or getting your nails done in a salon we narrowed down the endless amounts of nail colors to our top 9. Abby also tested out a set of DIY nail strips that proved to go above and beyond her expectations.

DIY Nail Strips
While wondering the aisle of Target (because that is my new past-time) I stumbled upon these nail color strips. And then I looked down at my nails that were in some major need of love and knew it was fate. I needed to test out these nail strips, but mostly because I can’t paint my own nails to save my life. I loved that they had built in nail art options as well as a few solid options.
With a few simple steps (cut, file, clean up cuticles) I was ready to attempt the nail strips. They were surprisingly easy to apply and went on very smooth. Pro Tip: Cut away cuticles or push back as much as you can for a smooth application. Press the strip down in the middle of the cuticle and then pull ever so slightly over the nail. Smooth down the sides with your finger. I used small scissors to cut away the excess and then filed them smooth. I have now had them on for over a week (showered, cleaned dishes, exercised, etc) and have seen no wear! Maybe the best part of the whole process was the zero drying time, which meant I could apply them when my kids were awake. Next step- removal and then finding a new color to test out.
