The Non-Toy Gift Guide

November 12, 2020

Recently I heard that kids don’t say LOL anymore. It’s cringy. And, oh boy, I would not want to be cringy. Ugh, as if! Ok, I know that no one has said “as if” since 1995 but it definitely caught on more than “fetch”. What I am really trying to say is that I’ve been doing my research on what kids really want for the holidays. And surprise, surprise, it may not actually be a toy! With all this time spent at home, making their space more personal (or maybe less “cringy”) is all the rage. But we didn’t stop there! We also found some fun options for gifts to wear and books to read. Introducing the non-toy gift guide for kids…

Something For Their Room

Wall Art// This is a great way for kids to express their feelings! Whether it’s funny or an activity they enjoy or a team they love or just plain cute.

A Cozy Seat// Time to replace those bean bag chairs with something new – loving this faux leather or this circle chair as the perfect reading nook.

Storage// A convertible desk pillow – genius! A hammock for stuffed animals – adorable!

Something To Wear

In-vest-ed// A little extra layer without all the bulk. Also why do kids look so darn cute in vests! One for him and one for her.

Unlikely Pair// New socks are always on my list – especially when one half goes missing. These pompom socks are too cute and these patterned socks are by my favorite brand.

Closet Refresh// My kids live in sports clothes so it’s nice to give them a little refresh. A new pair of joggers and a cool sweatshirt dress are perfect updates.

Something To Read

Ready Player Two// The highly anticipated sequel to (you guessed it) Ready Player One.

Who You Were Made To Be// Is there anything that Joanna Gaines can’t do!? This book provides a wonderful message about being completely and utterly you.

The Giving Tree// I love to go back to this book and see how the lesson remains the same but changes over time.

A Kids Book about Gratitude// This book is one of a series of other books that teaches important lessons about perspective and more essential life lessons.

Dear Girl,// A love letter for all girls and a must read!

Diary of a Wimpy Kid// My kids love these books and I love when they read, so it’s a win/win!
