Here’s the thing about cold weather….. you put all of this effort into creating a cute outfit only to cover it up with a jacket. Womp womp. My solution to this “problem” is simple. Make your outer layer your statement piece. If you plan on going to a place where you are not going to take off that outer layer, make sure it’s a great one. I have three gorgeous options for you in this post all from Nordstrom Rack. Not to mention, they are all under $60 (most under $30!)!

Look One: Mid-Length Coatigan

First let me clarify the term “coatigan”. It’s not quite a coat, but not quite a cardigan, so therefore it is a coatigan. A slightly lighter-weight coat, but slightly more substantial cardigan. It’s a stunning third piece to elevate your look while giving you that extra layer of warmth. I love the gridded, neutral pattern that pairs well with pretty much anything. I could even see myself throwing this over workout clothes to run errands.

Look 2: Longline Cardigan

This one is slightly lighter weight than the one above so I will classify it as a cardigan. It is longer in length and has both a hood and pockets. I loved the red for a festive feel, but it comes in several patterns.

Look 3: Faux Leather Puffer

I am HERE for this trend! A faux leather puffer gives your outfit an instant edgy/chic factor…. and the effort required is MINIMAL. However long it takes you to zip up that coat, is the amount of time needed to start exuding the aforementioned vibes. Oh, and this one is v warm.
