Scottsdale: Outfits + Itinerary

March 11, 2022

This little trip has been 5 years in the making. A few of our friends were all turning 40 around the same time and we decided that warranted a fun couples trip to somewhere amazing! As you know, it’s not easy to get away when you have kids (especially when you are going away with people you carpool with), but it was worth every ounce of advance planning. We knew we wanted to stay in the US and go some place that would be warm in March. We have all been to Florida so we decided Arizona would a new destination for most of the group.

Where We Stayed:

We worked with Whirlaway Travel to plan the trip and I can’t recommend their services enough – not to mention a few perks we got by booking through them (breakfast credits, spa access, to name a few). They recommended the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess – it is an absolutely beautiful resort. There are 6 pools (some adults only), it has an incredible spa, golf course and is 20 minutes from pretty much everything including the airport. The rooms were beautiful – we splurged on a ground level suite with a fire pit so we could have a communal hangout area for our group at night. We didn’t use it as much as we thought, but it was still nice to have the extra space especially because my husband never adjusted to the time change and always woke up 2 hours before me :).

Where We Ate:

The Fairmont has several restaurants on the property and they were all INCREDIBLE!! We really didn’t need to go far to get an amazing meal. Three of the nights we ate on property and one night we ventured into town. Here is a list of restaurants we went to and would recommend every single one!

Bourbon Steak (we loved it so much we went twice)

La Hacienda (amazing Mexican food – tacos and margaritas)

Ocean 44 (upscale seafood and steak in downtown area)

Barrio Queen (authentic Southern Mexican cuisine in Old Town. They don’t take reservations but we walked right in for lunch and sat outside. Tableside guac and palomas!)

** We ate breakfast at Ironwood American Kitchen most mornings and had lunch poolside. The resort has another restaurant that is a mile walk from the lobby called Toro. It overlooks the 18th hole of golf course where the Waste Management Tournament was recently played.

What We Did:

Relaxed by the pool (because, vacation)

Hiked Pinnacle Peak (it was easy and scenic and about 20 minutes from our hotel)

Walked around Old Town (cute shops and restaurants)

Enjoyed a spa day at the Well & Being Spa at the resort – we all did 90 minute massages and took advantage of all the amenities – cold plunge pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room etc…

Played Golf at We-Ko-Pa Golf Club (the guys did this while the girls were at the spa)

…And we laughed… like a lot ❤️.
