March 17, 2022

Welcome to the 2022 Motherchic Swim Edit. We went researching to find the best of the best swim suits with all your requests in mind. For those that need extra support, extra coverage, or just that something *extra* we are pretty sure we found it all. We were also introduced to some new brands that happen to be your favorites and I can not wait to try them too. Without further adieu let’s dig right in…

Top Swim Picks

Before we get into the nitty gritty of this swim guide, I wanted to highlight a few of my personal favorites, reader favorites and a few swim suits I have my eye on. These don’t necessarily fulfill any swim solutions, but they caught my attention and would love to try them!

Trend to Try: Cut-Outs

While cut-outs have been around for a while in swimsuits, this is currently the biggest apparel trend. I found no shortage of cute cut-out swim options from subtle ladder lace to crochet to perfectly placed keyholes.

Swim Solution: Bra-Sized Swim Tops

We get it, big or small, sometimes the girls need some extra support. This is why bra-sized swim is so important and we found necessary to include. Finding that perfect fit can be difficult so starting with your correct size is half the battle.

Supportive Swim: Tops for D, DD +

Cute swim that is also supportive for my D, DD and beyond was on the top of my list. We also got some amazing reader recommended brands that we included in our list: Sunset, Athleta, and Seafolly.

Long Torso Swim

I was so pleasantly surprised to see so many long torso options this year. Lots of retailers even had these styles separated out for an easy shopping experience. Be sure to check out Summersalt, J.Crew and Aerie.

Reader Requested: Cute Tankinis

Another great option for those with long torsos is a cute tankini, but sometimes finding cute ones takes a while! We did the hard work for you and rounded up some of the cutest tankinis styles this season. I also included some longline styles if you aren’t quite ready for the tankini yet!

Our Suggestions for Small Chests

Extra Protection: Rash guards and High Neck Styles

Got Kids? Well then you may need a rash guard! With hours and hours of chasing around my kids I need some serious sun protection. I also found a lot of cute long sleeve and high neck styles for those extra sensitive areas.

Full Coverage Bottoms

Skirts, Shorts and Swim Dresses

A little extra feminine flare (and coverage) comes in the form of a sassy skirts, swim dresses and surf shorts.

Mama Must-Have: Maternity Swim

One of the best investments I made was to get a really good maternity swimsuit. I just wish they were this cute when I needed them!
