Neutrals with a POP

I’m calling this look “French girl meets NYC girl”. I took a page out of both style books to create a look that has the best of both sought after aesthetics. French girl style is effortless, mostly neutral and embodies the perfect balance of laid back yet polished – “chic décontracté” as they call it. New Yorkers, on the other hand, have perfected the art of taking the most basic pieces and creating a fashion moment. They love classic black, but aren’t afraid of incorporating color into their ensemble whether it’s accessories or a bold lip. If you blend these styles together you get…..New Fork?! I kid, I kid. Let’s break it down….

First, a monochromatic outfit is always foolproof. Second, camel coat will always look chic. Wearing this simple ensemble would make the French girls proud.

While I love the minimalism of this look, I love a fun print, bold colors and voluminous silhouettes, so I knew I needed to kick this neutral (yet chic) look up a notch. Nordstrom Rack was the destination to add some accessories to my look. Injecting some much needed color and a fun vibe into this outfit gives in a little more of an NYC vibe. A bold beanie in the brightest of blues is the pop of color this outfit was asking for. Why stop there? The stunning green Kate Spade bag really packs the punch.
