Pantone Color of the Year: Viva Magenta

It’s true, I am a big fan of pink. Big Fan. It’s clearly a color that stands out and exude happy vibes. There is something nostalgic about pink, most likely because I grew up in a household with four sisters and there was no shortage of this warm, enticing color. Now, as a mom of four boys, I am constantly adding pops of pink wherever I possibly can – throw pillows, blankets, artwork, you name it. For me, pink is playful and it reminds me to seek joy in the little things. When Viva Magenta was crowned the color of the year, I knew 2023 was going to be a good year. If nothing else, it’s the perfect excuse to add more pink into my world.

Pantone describes Viva Magenta as a color that “vibrates with vim and vigor. It is a shade rooted in nature descending from the red family and expressive of a new signal of strength. Viva Magenta is brave and fearless, a pulsating color whose exuberance promotes a joyous and optimistic celebration, writing a new narrative” (Pantone).

Ok. I can get behind that.
