Whenever I feel the pressure of fashion emergency mounting I always tell myself a quick little mantra: Go back to the basics, girl! A great t-shirt and your favorite pair of jeans has the power to boost your confidence and shift your mood. Whether it’s a weekend on the sidelines or a surprise invitation to a Taylor Swift concert (hey, a girl can dream!) a simple tee and a rocking pair of jeans just works. Once you have your basics covered the fun part is accessorizing to take your outfit from jeans and tee to not just jeans and a tee.
Jeans and a Tee for Daytime
James Perse may be the epitome of casual luxe. This effortless tee has the perfect amount of ease and fit to feel put together and relaxed. The soft v-neckline is simple yet intentional. Pair this perfect tee with a fan favorite Joe’s Tomboy jeans for a west coast vibe. These mid rise jeans are a light wash and have a subtle hug-me-in-all-the-right-places stretch.

To punch up this look I added a few essential accessories. From top to bottom I first added these rose hued sunnies from AQS. I’ve been loving this brand for their unique shapes and bold colors. A chic straw bag is quintessential for summer. Lastly, these colorblocked kicks from Tretorn had me at hello. They are a fun pop of color to tie in the whole look.

Jeans and a Tee for Night
After picking up one of these tanks you are going to go back for more. James Perse does it again with a very substantial rib knit and slightly cut in fitted tank. I love that this doesn’t feel restricting, but still slimming. A simple shoe swap to a black slingback transforms the look into date night ready.

Can’t help but mention this little detail that makes a big statement: the mixed metal and leather cuff. I have been noticing cuffs are having their fashion moment and am ready to hop on board.
